Will started racing in fall of 1998 in Mini-cups. He was awarded Most Improved Driver in 1998. He completed his first full season in 1999, which he finished as runner up in the Points Championship. He was also Rookie of the Year, won 1st Class Team Award and had most feature wins. In 2000, Will won the Future Stars Championship. In 2001 Will ran two divisions in the Mini-Cup. He also was MMRA Future Stars National Champion. In 2002, Will competed in three divisions. Two of the divisions were 16 years old and younger, and the third division was the Open Mini-cup. He won all three championships, Rookie of the Year in the Adult Division, and 2002 MMRA Open National Champion along with Valvoline Cup Champion. In 2003, Will was MMRA Open National Champion, Valvoline Cup Champion and Kentuckiana Open Champion. Will competed in Bowling Green, Kentucky; Rockford, Illinois; Carthage, Tennessee; Lake Erie, Pennsylvania; Anderson, Indiana; Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. In 2004, Will drove a Legend car, participating at Kentucky Speedway and Anderson Speedway. He also participated in a Baby Grand in Carthage, Tennessee as well as racing a winged mini-sprint on a local dirt track. In 2005, Will competed in the Super Stock Division at Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana. Salem Speedway is a .555 mile high-banked asphalt track. He won Rookie of the Year and finished as runner up in the Points Championship. He was the only driver in that division to complete 100% of the laps.
